Brandon's new vocabulary

You may have wanted to build a kite one day but you don't know how to build one or what the the different parts of the kite are or what they do. Well I'm going to explain a Vivid definition on what each part of the kite does and where they are located.
now that i have showed you a diagram of a kite i am now gonna show you the definition of each part.

Spars: Think of spars as the skeleton of a kite.Spars are what give the kite support and shape. The spars are located on the frame around the outer edges of the kite. The spars can be straight or curved just like the skeletons we have that give us shape and support.

Tails: Think of a kite tail as a streamer hanging from not only the bottom of a kite  but maybe from center points along the sides of the kite. The tail of the kite can be located at the bottom or sides of the kite. the purpose of the tail is so the kite can stay balanced and fly straight.

Sail: The "skin" or "sail"of the kite is the cloth that is put around the kites frame.

Spine: The "spine" or "main spar" or "center spar" of a kite is the spar that goes from the noes to the "tail" of the kite. Its usually runs through the center of the kite.

Spreaders: The spreaders are the horizontal rods that keeps the kite in its shape.

Line: Is a strong piece of "line" or " wire" that keeps your kite from flying away.

Bridle: Puts the surface of the kite at the correct angle so it has lift to fly.

Tow points: The towing points are the points where the bridle and flying lines connect. By moving this point on the bridle line the flight characteristics can be changed.

keel: The keel is the longer rod under the kite that keeps it together.

Fittings: a piece that keeps the kite from falling apart.
When your done with your kite and now you know the vocabulary for a kite. Now that you know you can now make a beautiful kite successfully.

Jovani learn's more

Do you know how to make a full kite? Do you know what the  parts  of the kite are  called ? So if you do not I will tell you all of the specific parts of the kite.  All parts are important because if you do not have all parts the kite will not be able to fly. So now let’s go over the different parts:
The most obvious part is the tail of the kite.

You will need it to put it on the bottom of your kite so it can make the kite stay steady in heavy winds and only flat kites needs a tail a flat tail.
The next part of a kite is the spine. The spine is like the back of a kite like the spine on a human. But the spine will need to be flat, light and straight. It is straight because the shape of the kite has to be flat so it will fly. The spine is found in the middle of the kite so it will not fold over in the air.
The cross spar is almost the same part as the spine but it is going across the spine. It helps the corners of the kite stay up. The cross spar is like the human arms it can also be like a right angle and a perpendicular line.
Now let’s talk about the kite line. The kite line is a part to help the kite fly in the wind. There cannot be a excellent without the kite line. If you do not have a kite line the kite will not fly where you want it to fly.
You will also need this last piece which is the bridle your kite will not fly the way you want it to because it will not go where your kite line is trying to take it.
That is all of the parts you need to make your kite perfect!!!

Isaias a Wonderful Scholars Goals

Our group goals are : Most beautiful kite, largest kite and best team work. Our group will win the Largest Kite on June 24th, because our kite will show a combination of qualities, such as, shape, color, and form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially the sight and our kite will show the use of our imagination and original ideas, especially in the production of an artistic work.

My group will also win the most beautiful kite competition on June 24th because our kite will show an arousing awe through being evoking admiration through size, and skill. It will also show inspiring fear and respect through being impressively powerful in beauty, also it will show magnificence.

Goals (Yeah Right) By Allan

Do you hate it when your teacher(s) said "let's take out our note books and write our goal's for the year." They always say the same thing over and over again. They never change what we do instead of goals all year long. One thing I really hate about goals is that you have to complete them or if not, they are just useless .But if you spend your time trying and trying to complete them, they can help you.

That is what I heard from my teacher today in class. So what I learned today in Ela is that my team and I can accomplish our kite building and we can set that as one of our goals. But our real goals are to have the most beautiful kite, the largest, and the best team work. We chose these goals because we are going to need a huge kite frame and we are all respect each other. So hopefully we can accomplish one of these goals.

Jovani's Goal for success!

My group and I is creating our own kite for kite day. That is when kids in M.S.126 builds there own kite from scratch. I like our design it is a good vs evil theme on our kite. It is cool because a lot of people like batman and joker and hero's like that.

We are entering competitions like the most largest kite and also the best team work. One more which is the most beautiful kite there. I think we will win at least 2-3 of those competitions and be happy for the end of our school year and get ready for the nice hot summer. If we don't win these competitions we still might be able to win other competitions.

My goals because "I'm Batman Hee Hee "-Brandon's Team Goals

When you were in Elementary school and your teacher always said,"You need to have goals in life or you won't make it." And they said that over and over again i don't know about you but I found that really annoying. But as I got older I understood what they were trying to explain to us and they were right. You really do need goals set to succeed in life. Me and my group have many goals just like you guys but for right now are goals are set to help us win this competition and we want to win more than one competition.

My group has chosen 3 competitions that will inspire the design of the kite and they are the most beautiful kite, best teamwork, and largest kite. The kite needs these qualities because each and everyone of them play a big part in the competition. For example the most beautiful kite competition plays a big roll because me and my group members don't want our kite to look sloppy and ugly. Another example is best teamwork because we all need to work and help pout in building and flying the kite so we can all get credit for doing our jobs. My final example is the biggest kite because we want people to notice our kite because its big and beautiful. So if we win all all those competitions and use all those qualities our kite will surly be able to fly.

The Never Ending Battle of Good Vs. Evil-Jovani's Theme

Good vs Evil
Do you guys out there like the theme good vs. evil? Good vs. Evil is Our theme like a criminal vs. a cop. Usually in life cops are viewed as the good guys but in movies they are  sometimes shown as the bad guys. The theme good versus evil represents that one person can be a blend of good and evil. So our team decided that our kite is going to be just as complicated.

My group and I chose this theme all because we all love batman the movie.  In the movie there is good people and evil people. So we started to write about batman vs. joker. Our theme is one no one picked we thought of this cool theme that everyone will love. In my opinion this is the theme everybody will love and be like wow that is a cool kite I am so amazed. We all agreed on this one theme, Good VS Evil. We chose this theme because  the battle of the Greek gods and the comics of batman vs. joker.
